To a New Year!

It’s the first Arena Comics post for the new year!!!!  Happy New Year!  And we hope to welcome you to the arena with us whether you are an old fan or new!  We hope it will be an amazing year for us.  We have some new projects in store that we hope to reveal more about this year.  You can also expect to learn a bit more about if and when we will be in your area, etc.

A new year means new beginnings or a continuing of something.  We hope to continue what we started with Arena Comics, but we also want to make a re-dedication to our fans *you* about what we want to do.  We think that independent comics don’t have to be shoddily made and uninteresting.  We hope to bring you independent projects that are great stories and great art from talented creators, we even put it on high-quality paper!

A new era has surfaced with comics and we want to be a part of it.  So suit up and put on your game face. Step into the Arena!

A 12/12/12 Post! Join the Forum!

So in between your watching sappy, holiday-themed romance movies… or y’know the complete opposite, you could be talking about all of your loves/frustrations/wants, etc. on our official Arena Comics forum.  We’d love to hear from you, to get more info back in what we could be including in the blogs.  Head over to the Official Arena Comics forum for more conversation!

Also, we have been busy gearing up for next year at Arena.  We have lots in store for you, but first things first, and that is to get through December.  So a bunch more blog posts are in store and remember we are always available through our Facebook and Twitter!

We want to hear and answer your questions!

Until then!

The city needs better insurance…

Okay, yesterday’s post might have come as a shocker to some of you!  I mean, it was out of the blue!  But we hope to change that.  We promised art work, right?  Good quality art work, right?  The kind that makes you weep at how marvelous the detail, the line, the color, the aura of the work is, right? right? right?  Well, today’s artwork features a sort of what if scenario…

Until next time!

‘Tis the season, right?

Okay, it’s been awhile since we’ve posted, but we have been hard at work bringing you the best comics that we possibly can!  And that’s worth it, right?  *cricket*  Anywho, for the rest of December (the month chock full of holiday and winter festivities galore)–> (festivities!!!!) we will be keeping you up to date on why the best thing you could possibly do this season (other than y’know spending time with friends and family) is to be parked right in the action of Arena Comics!

On Facebook we’ve been having a few throwback days.  But if you have any burning questions for Arena Comics, including the writers and artists then let us know and we will try to answer those questions as best we can.   And on top of that, you will get more original art dealing with Arena Comics like the one up top!  ‘Tis the season for giving, right?

My first question is to the audience and fans of Arena Comics.  What kinds of blog updates would you like to see?

Splitsville Friday the 3rd!!!!!

Ready for your 3rd Splitsville update?   Because here it is!  But what’s up with the last post?  Stalwart’s got the fighting skills!!!!  But the headache, what could be going on with the hero?  Anywho, here’s a new page straight from the comic.

Enter Tiger Mom!  What could be in store?!  Tune in next week for another Splitsville Friday.  And have fun at Dragon*Con to all the attendees!

Splitsville Friday- Take 2!!

We loved sharing a page of Splitsville with you last Friday and couldn’t wait to share a page with you this Friday (today) as well.  What were your thoughts on the first page of Splitsville???  Did you try to guess what happened next?

Well, here’s insight into that very question.  Well, even if we can’t wait to see what happens next, perhaps the butler won’t have that much of a say-so in the matter!

Well, there’s your page for this week.  Remember that Splitsville is available to purchase online at the Arena-Comics.com store and offline (at the conventions and, if you are in the Atlanta area, a couple of comic stores.)  For more information about how to purchase Splitsville (by Ben Fisher and drawn by Kevin Stokes), please see this post!!!!

Splitsville Fridays!!!

Today is the first day of what will be known as “Splitsville Fridays.”  We post a page of Splitsville #1, you get an inside view of the book.  Just check back here on Fridays.  It’s a win-win!!!  Because we love sharing our work with you!

Check out this page, drawn by Kevin Stokes and written by Ben Fisher.  The very first page of Splitsville has you right in the action, with our fearless hero Stalwart saving the city once again.  But is there a side of Stalwart the public doesn’t see?

For more info on Splitsville #1 check out the Arena-Comic’s website.  And for more info on how to obtain Splitsville #1, check this post or visit the Arena-Comics.com’s Store.

Want Splitsville?-Here’s how to grab it!

So you read the other post about Splitsville in our last post and, well, we hope that you are thinking about grabbing a copy of the book as soon as possible!  But there is just one thing that might be standing in your way.  How do you get your hands on a copy of this book?

There are a few ways you can go about getting Splitsville #1.

1.) Order from our online store.  The quick and easy way to get the book right to your doorstep!!

2.) Request that your local comic book store order the book.  Have them contact us and do all the ordering for you. You won’t have to worry about shipping this way, and more people can see the book in store.

3.) If you’re in the Atlanta area, you can pick up a copy of the book from Criminal Records at 1154-A Euclid Ave NE, Atlanta, GA 30307 OR from Oxford Comics at 2855 Piedmont Road NE, Atlanta, GA 30305!!!  We all appreciate the business!!

4.) Meet us at a convention!  Get the book signed and ask the writer (Ben Fisher) and the artist (Kevin Stokes) all the questions you may have!  We love seeing old and new fans alike of Arena Comics and Splitsville, or any other book we have coming soon to you!

Until next time!!!

Welcome to the Arena! First Up- Splitsville #1!

Hi, and welcome to the first blog post from Arena Comics — the place where we value our readership and the quality of our books above all else.  We wanted to take this opportunity to share with you the exciting happenings of what’s going on inside the Arena Comics studio and to tell you how you can be a part of the action!

First up, we have our debut book Splitsville written by Ben Fisher and drawn by Kevin Stokes.

Splitsville is a slightly parodied take on what makes a hero “tick.”  That’s a difficult question to answer when the heroes and his arch-nemesis are unwittingly the very same person.  The sidekicks know all the dirty secrets, of course.. but they care a lot less about helping matters and a lot more about profiting from the situation.  When a new super-heroine comes to town and challenges the hero to the impossible, what surfaces is a quick-paced book filled with action and hilarious situations!!

Splitsville #1 debuted to much fanfare and rave reviews at HeroesCon 2012 in Charlotte, North Carolina.  Featuring a limited HeroesCon variant cover as well as the standard cover, we were thrilled to present our first book to you.  But just because the con is over, doesn’t mean Splitsville is showing any signs of slowing down.  In fact, it’s just getting started!!!

You can order a copy of Splitsville #1 through the Arena Comics Store or if you are in the Atlanta area, from Criminal Records or Oxford Comics.
